Task Force One by Steve Herbert
In April 1982, a hastily assembled task force set sail for the little-known Falkland Islands, located in the treacherous waters of the South Atlantic. Thirty thousand men and their equipment, carried on a myriad of ships, were embarking on an eight thousand mile journey across the ocean to liberate the islands. Their mission was a precarious and daunting one. The eyes of the world were upon them and the hearts and minds of the people of this isle were with them as they sailed out of the ports.
Task Force One was written in honour of those who left these shores, some of whom did not return home to see the heroes welcome waiting for them on the quaysides, where family and loved ones cheered and waved Union Jacks.
